The Avengers and Gambit take a Quinjet to Norfolk, Virginia, following an spike in electromagnetic activity which they hope will lead them to Magneto, whom they believe is behind Xavier’s transformation into Onslaught. Rogue and Joseph are having their car worked on at a local mechanic’s shop, secretly using Joseph’s power to get the mechanic’s equipment working. As the two walk through the city, the Quinjet lands nearby. Quicksilver immediately rushes in to attack Joseph, mistaking him for Magneto. Rogue warns the Avengers not to interfere, and both sides end up fighting one another until Joseph shows concern for the Scarlet Witch, causing her to realize this is not the Magneto she remembers. After she stops Quicksilver from renewing the battle, both sides come to an understanding. Rogue and Joseph leave with the Avengers to aid them against Onslaught.
During the early days of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, Mastermind and Toad paw at a frightened Scarlet Witch. Magneto reprimands the men, then engulfs the Scarlet Witch in an energy field as punishment when she talks of leaving the Brotherhood.
The cover title reads “Onslaught Impact 1.” With the team’s disbanding in Ons:MU, ’96, Crystal’s Avengers membership ends.
