Zedrao suggests that the Avengers use the sensor grid at the Skrull power asteroid to locate the missing Nebula. Accompanied by a Skrull escort ship, the heroes travel toward the asteroid and encounter the Kralian Skrulls, who pattern their society after 1930s American culture. Aboard the Kralians’ ship, the Avengers meet the Skrull warrior Raksor and the Skrull traitor, Prince Dezan, whom Raksor freed fromprison to fight the rebels, Zabyk and Myrn. After learning that Zabyk and Myrn have commandeered the power asteroid to unleash a powerful weapon, the Avengers and Dezan infi ltrate the asteroid. There, they encounter the Fantastic Four, who are on a separate mission. Despite the heroes’ efforts, Zabyk activates a hyperwave bomb, which robs all Skrulls across the cosmos of their shape-shifting abilities. Unable to locate Nebula, the Avengers depart, leaving Dezan, whose crime was desiring peace, to hopefully forge a new path for his people.
Prince Dezan is imprisoned for treason, his friend Zabyk goes underground and another friend, Myrn, becomes a scientist in charge of the Skrull power asteroid (1). Galactus arrives on the Skrull throneworld (FF #257, ’83). Raksor spies on Zabyk and Myrn plotting to use the power asteroid to build a new Skrull empire following the throneworld’s destruction (2).
