  • The Smasher crashes into Robbie’s office in an attempt to kidnap him, but Spider-Man stops him, planting a spider-tracer on him. Later, Peter, Harry, Gwen, and MJ, drive a Raleigh campaign van. The Smasher attacks, destroying the van. Peter, as Spidey, follows him back to Disruptor and Thaxton. Panicking, Disruptor overuses his Smasher control device, causing the giant to destroy the lab, killing both Disruptor and Thaxton. Spidey destroys Smasher by striking his control implant, then unmasks Disruptor, discovering he was Raleigh. Spidey removes and burns Disruptor’s costume, thus protecting Raleigh’s secret. JJJ vows to write an editorial eulogizing Raleigh’s accomplishments.

This is part three of the re-formatted SpSMag #1 story (see ASM #116 Note). Peter’s motorcycle is eliminated, Joe Robertson replaces George Stacy w/Stacy home becoming Robbie’s Bugle offi ce, many Raleigh fi gures are redrawn as Disruptor, Smasher’s attack on campaign van, spider-tracer & revelation of Raleigh as Disruptor are added. Joe Robertson called “Robinson” once here.
