Eventually relenting, he lets an ambulance take Gwen away, but, feeling responsible, says that Spider-Man killed her. Hearing this, the police try to detain him but he escapes and heads to Osborn’s house. Finding a drug-addled Harry there, Peter callously ignores his cry for help and leaves. Spidey stops at the Bugle where Robbie looks into Osborn’s holdings for him, fi nding a warehouse where Osborn was recently seen. There, Spidey finds the Goblin and beats him mercilessly until he realizes he’s about to commit murder. As Spidey backs off, the Goblin sends his remote-controlled glider at Spidey, its bat-shaped headpiece twisted into a spiked weapon. Spidey moves at the last instant and the glider impales the Goblin. This apparent death brings Spidey no satisfaction, only emptiness. He leaves, unaware that someone else is in the warehouse with him. Later, Peter finds MJ in his apartment. Although Peter tries to push her away, MJ stays to console him.
