Ten days have passed since the Green Goblin murdered Gwen Stacy and Spider-Man continues to mourn. The Daily Bugle makes it harder as it accuses him of murdering Norman Osborn. At the newspaper offices, Joe Robertson tries to ensure J. Jonah Jameson has all the facts before accusing Spider-Man. Jonah’s son, John arrives, planning to introduce his fi ancée Kristine Saunders to his father but turns pale, sweats and trembles before he does so. He brushes off Jonah’s concern, claiming to be under a strain. Meanwhile, Peter returns to ESU, hoping his friends and classmates will leave him alone. Imagining he is the object of everyone’s attention and pity, he storms out of class. Mary Jane follows but Peter rejects her sympathy. When Flash arrives asking about Harry’s whereabouts, Peter blows up at them both. At his apartment, John Jameson discovers his special radiation suit will not prevent the moon from turning him into a Man-Wolf. Instinctively, the creature races to the Daily Bugle, smashing his way into Jameson’s offi ce. Spidey, enraged over Daily Bugle headlines, heads there as well, arriving in time to save JJJ. Man-Wolf fl ees, but Jonah forbids Spidey’s pursuit, having recognized the gem around the monster’s neck as John’s. Baffl ed, Spider-Man leaves, soon realizing that the fight released his tension and anger but unaware the Man-Wolf has doubled back to attack.
