The Jackal manipulates the Punisher into believing his war on crime should include Spider-Man, the alleged killer of Norman Osborn. Meanwhile, Spidey busts up an armored car robbery, then takes his photos to the Daily Bugle. J. Jonah Jameson, angry that the New York Star has front-page Punisher photos, demands Peter get some as well. As Spidey wonders how to fi nd the Punisher, the vigilante shoots at him with his concussion rifl e. In a rooftop battle, the Punisher wraps Spidey in titanium alloy wire but the wall-crawler breaks free and gains the upper hand, prompting the hidden Jackal to strike from behind with his electro-prod claws. As the pair retreat to their lair, Spidey returns to the scene, finding a gun manufactured by Reiss Armorers. Pete briefl y returns home, where Harry, believing himself the Green Goblin, eavesdrops. Elsewhere, angry over the Jackal’s apparent murder of Spider-Man, the Punisher storms off to Reiss Armorers to visit the Mechanic, only to find Spidey there with the body of his dead friend. They fight until Spidey points out the telltale claw marks on Reiss’ body. Realizing the Jackal played him, the Punisher vows revenge. Meanwhile, the Jackal watches and plots his next move.
