Spider-Man thinks he sees Gwen amongst the Manhattan crowds, but dismisses it as a remnant of Mysterio’s attack. At the Bugle, Peter discovers Jonah gone and Robbie in charge. At lunch, Robbie shows Peter a ransom note for Jonah. He wants Peter to join him in Paris to ransom Jonah. Peter takes the week off from school to go. At the airport, Peter says goodbye to Mary Jane with a kiss that stuns them both. In Paris, Spidey, following Robbie to the Left Bank, witnesses his assault by Cyclone’s men and comes to his rescue. Cyclone arrives and uses his wind control to effortlessly lift Robbie and his men, collapsing a wall on Spidey. He demands one million dollars or Jonah and Robbie will die.
Mysterio captured (ASM #142, ’75). Peter and Robbie arrive at their hotel and get a phone call from Jonah’s kidnappers. Robbie leaves to meet with them. Peter follows as Spidey. Robbie’s cab makes a full circuit of Paris until stopping on the Seine’s Left Bank.
