  • Spider-Man returns to his Paris hotel where Peter gets a note from the kidnappers telling him to wait for instructions. While there, he calls Aunt May just before she and Anna go to the movies. On their way, May spots “Gwen Stacy” and faints into Anna’s arms. Meanwhile, Cyclone’s men rough up Peter in his room, telling him to bring the ransom money to Notre Dame. Peter wanders the Paris streets until seeing a hardware store that gives him an idea of how to defeat Cyclone. Arriving at Notre Dame, Spidey takes out the henchmen, then lures Cyclone into position and unveils his trap: a giant fan that creates a vortex opposite Cyclone’s. It flings Cyclone into a wall, knocking him out. Spider-Man frees Jonah and Robbie, then uses a remote activated tape recorder speaking in Peter’s voice from the belfry, to preserve his secret identity. They return to New York. At his apartment, Peter fi nds Anna who tells him May is hospitalized, then directs Peter upstairs. Peter runs up to his apartment and finds Gwen Stacy standing there, alive and well!

    Robbie shows Peter ransom note, both travel to Paris, Spidey battles Cyclone’s men, Cyclone collapses wall (ASM #143, ’75). Cyclone creates wind device for NATO but USA rejects it.
