Peter returns from Florida without Man-Thing photos, which displeases JJJ. As Peter leaves, Ned hands him the doctor’s lab report about Gwen. Meanwhile, Tarantula makes new spiked shoes in prison and uses them to escape to the Jackal’s waiting van. Aunt May is discharged from the hospital. As Anna gets her car, May gives MJ a pep talk on not giving up on Peter. Meanwhile, Spidey, reeling over the lab report, hallucinates Gwen and lashes out in frustration, attracting police attention. Tarantula takes out the cops so he can kill Spidey himself. He steers their fi ght into a bus, which is eventually boarded by a hypnotized Gwen. The Jackal, disguised as the bus driver, takes them to the Brooklyn Bridge. The Tarantula knocks out Spidey, who awakens chained up on top of the bridge. The Jackal takes credit for creating and controlling Gwen, then condemns Spidey to death for killing Gwen two years ago. The Tarantula pushes Spidey off the bridge.
