Spider-Man is driven off the roof by his landlady, Mrs. Muggins, entering through a window when she leaves. In the bowery, the derelict is again plagued by an unseen apparition, and hurries off to fi nd the one person who can help him. It is August 27th, the date of Ned and Betty’s wedding, in the Cupid Room at Morgan’s of Malverne, a multi-floored wedding “factory” with a massive lobby chandelier. MJ accompanies Peter to the ceremony. There, Mirage and his men rob the Shapiro, Jabbar, and O’Hara weddings before targeting the Leeds affair. Peter becomes Spidey and defeats the three henchmen but cannot locate the Mirage who is always standing not quite where he appears. In the lobby, Spidey drops the chandelier, which is big enough to land on Mirage, although he is actually halfway across the room. Pete returns in time to witness the nuptials. May catches the bouquet, then heads home, finding the derelict there. He reveals himself to be Dr. Octopus.
Spidey attempts to use his apartment’s skylight for the fi rst time. Betty revealed her wedding date in ASM #143, ’75. Mirage’s real name revealed in OHMU:DE #18.
