The X-Man Nightcrawler reads about the sniper murder of his friend Eric Hoffman and investigates Eric’s Coney Island neighborhood where Peter and MJ ride the amusement park’s roller coaster. Later, a sniper kills a roller coaster rider. Nightcrawler finds the killer’s gun just as Spidey arrives. They fi ght, both thinking the other is the assassin. When Nightcrawler realizes his mistake he teleports away. Spidey visits Robbie at the Bugle to discuss the killings while JJJ looks at the anonymously-sent photos that seem to show Spidey dumping Peter Parker’s body down an incinerator chimney. At a construction site, the Punisher breaks up Snake-Eyes’ crap game, demanding to know who is impersonating him. On the Roosevelt Island, tramway, Nightcrawler ambushes Spidey and steals his camera to keep his existence a secret. Spidey resumes their fi ght, above the tram. The Punisher emerges from inside it, armed and certain that Snake-Eyes’ information means one of them is the impersonator.
