  • Kingpin plans to transfer Spidey’s life-essence into his cryogenically preserved son when Vanessa appears and asks him to reconsider. Ignoring her, Kingpin throws the switch. Vanessa takes the revived Richard away. Kingpin tells Spidey he has about six hours to live, then has his men toss him from a speeding car. Spidey makes his way home, where Glory Grant fi nds Peter and helps him to bed. Once she leaves, Spidey visits Curt Connors’ lab where Curt puts him into a cell-regeneration enervator, pushing it to its limits, and causing it to explode, affecting Curt. Connors rigs a wrist-mounted taser-siphoning device for Spidey. Tracking Kingpin to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Spidey uses the device on Richard, reclaiming his life force. In their subsequent battle, Kingpin apparently falls to his death. Vanessa takes Richard away, stating that he had possessed Spidey’s life force long enough to rejuvenate. She calls off her men because, though Spidey stole her husband, he gave her back her son.

Richard Fisk as Supreme Hydra duped by Red Skull. Kingpin used his gang to defeat Skull’s Fifth Sleeper while Cap and Falcon defeated Skull, leaving Richard dying in Kingpin’s arms (Cap #148, ’72).
