Spider-Man prevents several criminals from hijacking a police paddy wagon by smashing the vehicle with a lamppost. At her lab, Marla and Jonah commiserate over the defeat of their Spider-Slayer. Harry has a fruitful psychiatric session with Dr. Hamilton. JJJ heads over to Peter’s apartment, grabs Pete by the hair trying to remove his “Parker mask”, then shows the pictures of Spidey disposing of his clone that “prove” Spidey killed Pete. Prepared, Peter shows Jonah his faked set of “originals” casting doubt on Jonah’s pictures’ authenticity, blaming the whole stunt on Harry during his Green Goblin phase. Jonah buys it and leaves. On patrol, Spidey encounters a gang using a laser cannon in a subway tunnel. After defeating them, he meets their portly, cigarette-holder-wielding boss: not the Kingpin but Dr. Faustus.
