Black Cat makes off with Walter Hardy as the guards rush in. Spidey’s arm is broken, so, as Peter, he heads to Dr. McGinty at ESU, who splints it. Granger and Korpse are dismissed by Cat, but wind up in the employ of another fi gure whom Granger calls “Fatso.” Cat brings Hardy back home. At ESU, Pete has another argument with Ned, then deliberately treats Betty badly so she’ll slap him and forget about him. At Restwell, Reinhart has a plan to keep Peter away from Aunt May and hopefully discover what the Burglar’s secret is. Laying the dying Walter down in his own bed, the Cat reveals herself as his daughter Felicia then leaves her father with her mother. As she leaves, Spidey appears, and they fight, with the Cat apparently falling to her death; Spidey’s injured arm preventing him from saving her. Spidey returns to tell her parents only to find that Walter has died. When he returns home, he opens a telegram that notifies him that Aunt May died earlier that day.
