Two AIM assassins attack Captain America, but are easily defeated. They retreat to face MODOK, who executes one and offers the other the chance to be spared, if he will participate in an experiment. The AIM agent is soon transformed into the Cyborg. Meanwhile, Cap heads to SHIELD HQ, where he asks Nick Fury to take Sharon off field duty to keep her out of harm’s way. Fury arranges for Sharon to meet Cap, and she agrees to take office duty. SHIELD scanners detect the Cyborg robbing a bank, but the villain flees before they can pursue. Later, Sharon receives a message which she relays to Cap, instructing him to meet Nick Fury at a house. Sharon discovers the message is a trap and rushes off to warn Cap before he can enter the building. Arriving before the Avenger, she is attacked by the Cyborg. Cap arrives and battles the Cyborg, eventually defeating the foe. Sharon embraces Cap, glad that he is safe, but he brushes off her affections, chastising her and Fury for breaking her promise to stay out of danger. He walks away before Sharon can explain she was trying to save him.
