Maria Hill gets the backstory on the relentless attack Stark is enduring. She determines she can assist by bringing down all cellular activity in the Seattle area, thus cutting off the remote command of the attack drones from the gaming users activating them. Bambi and the rest of Stark Resilient help Rhodey and Pepper recover. Stark is driving the Resilient test model car, controlled by his RT technology, while Detroit Steel and the drones are in hot pursuit. Stark's car performs amazing feats of defensive driving to stay one step ahead of Detroit Steel. Hill cuts the cell signals, depowering the drones and allowing Tony to help boost Pepper's RT unit, thus saving her life. Maria Hill calls General Bruce Babbage and tells him he has to eliminate his security contracts with Hammer Industries or else she will make life for him very uncomfortable. Babbage then calls the Hammers and tells them they've lost this round and to call off the dogs on Stark. Justine reluctantly calls Detroit Steel and tells him to stand down. As a cover story, Doug Johnson of Detroit Steel and Tony meet with the press and tell them that they were working together to stop a terrorist attack in Seattle. But there is a palpable unease between the two as they force themselves to act like partners to forestall a public relations disaster for both. Maria Hill personally escorts Jim Rhodes to Babbage's office at the Pentagon. Babbage squirms as he is forced by Hill to restore relations with Rhodes and offer him a role at the Pentagon as War Machine. Hill tells Rhodey he is to report to her on all his activities. Justine Hammer calls Babbage and tells him he owes her for ruining her plot against Stark. She says they'll be even if he releases a particular prisoner from Guantanamo Bay into her custody. Babbage agrees and the prisoner is flown in a transport plane to the Mandarin's estate. Justine and Sasha are there with the Mandarin to greet Ezekiel Stane. The Mandarin tells Stane he owes him for his freedom and expects him to lend his talents to his cause. Stark galvanizes his Resilient team to continue their work on the RT-powered car, since they got major funding to begin mass production. Still, he worries about the saboteur that is inside his company.
