While Tony Stark kicks back some beers with the dwarves of Svartalfheim, one of their number, Tooth, makes a deal with a mysterious figure shrouded in fog. Tooth hands over some snippets of Stark's hair to the figure, who tells Tooth that the Serpent is the king of everyone before killing him. Macken talks to his wife telling her he is okay but that they don't know where Tony is as the world seems to be falling apart. He watches a video feed of Mokk killing a newsman, turning him into stone. He contacts Pepper who is in a melee with Sasha Hammer and four Hammer mechs. While Tony continues his carousing, the mysterious figures use the hairs they got from Tooth to place onto the body of a golem. A short time later, the golem activates, its chest and palms glowing where Iron Man's normally would. Pepper is set upon by the Hammer mechs, but escapes after firing a repulsor blast. They give chase but soon Mokk enters the scene, turning one of the Hammer mechs to stone and forcing them to all work together. Mokk is too powerful, though, and soon has Sasha and Pepper dangling from a cliff by their necks. Splitlip tells Iron Man that in order to cast his armor in the enchanted Uru, he will have to enter the giant smelting pot. Later, Tony is working on his armor when ....
