Tony Stark pushes his way out of the thick, gooey sludge that launched a surprise attack upon him. Finally able to breathe, he summons his armor to form around him and finds himself face-to-face with a golem now cast in his armored image. He tries to fight back, but the golem slaps him aside. The dwarves, led by Splitlip, come to his rescue, buying him time to power his RT device to blast at the golem, disintegrating it to bits. Meanwhile, Rescue and Sasha's team of armor units stand up to Mokk. But as Sasha's sidekicks keep Mokk on the defensive, Sasha uses the opening to launch a direct attack on Rescue. Pepper can't believe that Sasha has prioritized killing her in the face of a worldwide threat that Mokk represents. She urges Sasha to protect her mates and then jumps on Mokk's back to take him on directly. Sasha calls on her corps to retreat, leaving Rescue all alone to face Mokk. Mokk rips off Rescue's helmet and holds Pepper up to his face by the neck. She keeps her eyelids clamped shut so she doesn't look into his and turn to stone, but he tells her that he will wait... Tony is slumped over, recovering from his brutal battle against the golem and going through an existential crisis now that he's returned to drinking. Splitlip tells him they found the Smoke Elves responsible for sending the golem after him and hands him a beer. Much to Splitlip's astonishment, Tony refuses the drink. But another dwarf busts through the door and says that Odin has arrived, so everyone heads out into the factory. Tony girds himself in his Iron Man armor and leaps into the pit of molten Uru metal.
