The Foolkiller kills two FBI agents trailing him. The next day, Greg Salinger shows up late to Peter Parker’s freshman class and tells him that the registrar has messed up his admission paperwork. Later, Spidey prevents Foolkiller from killing ESU Registrar Harvey McNamara, but loses him in the subway; the Foolkiller returning to his mobile 18-wheeler hideout. Peter brings fi lm of Spidey fi ghting Foolkiller to Joe Robertson, before heading back to ESU where he runs into Greg who tells him he previously mailed letters that never arrived. After telling Greg he was a victim of the campus mailroom, Pete visits Deb Whitman, who is upset because Greg called her a fool. Realizing that Greg is the Foolkiller, Spidey tracks him to the ESU mailroom where he is killing mail clerks. Fleeing, Greg encounters a homeless woman who tells him that anyone who gunned for Spider-Man would have to be a fool. Accepting this, Greg prepares to kill himself but Spidey webs him up first.
Greg Salinger meets Richard Rory in prison, learning about the original Foolkiller. When released, he steals Foolkiller’s equipment, comes to New York, encountering Omega and killing Blockbuster (Omega #8-9, ’77), then fights the Defenders (Def #73-75, ’79). Taken away in an ambulance that crashes, Greg escapes.
