Keating and his SWAT team fi nd Spidey unconscious on the Expo’s floor. Coming to, Spidey grabs Keating’s walkie-talkie and follows the Vulture. At Penn Station, Anna and Mary Jane Watson return from Florida. A pair of police helicopters spot the Vulture carrying Bestman towards Staten Island. Hearing this on the walkie-talkie, Spidey hitches a ride with a chopper, using a web-parachute to land near the Vulture’s silo hideout. Inside, he overhears Vulture remind Bestman of their past. Spidey confronts Vulture who tosses Bestman out the window and fl ees. Spidey rescues Bestman then captures Vulture by ripping his power pack off his back. Keating arrests the Vulture and Bestman, having overheard the story of Bestman’s embezzling through Spidey’s borrowed walkie-talkie. Back in Manhattan, Amy Powell finally catches up with Peter and they go out for coffee. A jealous Lance Bannon sees them together.
Adrian Toomes and Gregory Bestman open B & T Electronics, with Bestman controlling the business, and Toomes doing R&D. Toomes develops an anti-grav device and wings that allow him to fly, then discovers Bestman is cooking the company’s books. Bestman fires Toomes who turns to crime as the Vulture, beginning with ransacking Bestman’s offi ce, stealing the embezzled money, and destroying the business’ building (before ASM #2, ’63).
