Jones takes a picture and flees, eluding the pursuing Spidey. Later, Peter identifies Jones through Ben Urich while Jones tries to sell Spidey’s secret at mob hangout “Scurvy Jack’s”, succeeding only in attracting Roberto DeNatale’s thugs to his hotel room, demanding his information. Spidey arrives and fights the hoods. Jones slips out, running into DeNatale and his gang, who believe he set them up. Pretending he wants to kill Jones himself, Spidey defeats the mobsters, then terrifi es Jones into giving up his photos. Jones decides to leave town to avoid DeNatale but hopes to return soon and perhaps recognize Spider-Man’s face on the street. Standing amidst a typical New York crowd, he realizes that may be less likely than he’d imagined.
