  • A doubting Thomas Fireheart attends a ritual in which his uncle reaffirms that he must kill the Beyonder. In Manhattan, while distraught over Jean DeWolff’s death (PPSSM #107-110, ’85-86), Spider-Man protects two Cosmic Oneness acolytes who tell him their message comes from one who sees beyond. Spidey visits Nathan at the hospital and hears a TV interview with Cosmic Oneness leader Barry Foxxe that makes him uneasy. Peter returns home where Fireheart awaits, revealing that he is Puma and knows Peter is Spider-Man. Ned and Lance spy on Betty meeting and embracing Flash. Puma and Spidey enter the Cosmic Oneness building where Puma speaks to Foxxe who gives him the address of “Frank,” the cult leader. Heading there, Puma meets the Beyonder who teleports him to his business appointments in Tokyo. A week later, Fireheart appears at Peter’s apartment, offering $100,000 to help kill the Beyonder. Just then, the Beyonder appears.

The Beyonder stages a “Secret War” with Earth’s major heroes and villains (SecWar #1, ’84). He later appears in Peter’s apartment and turns a Park Avenue apartment building into gold (SecWar2 #2, ’85). Puma battles Spider-Man (ASM #256-257, ’84).

    Puma gets new costume here.
