As Spidey recovers, the Hobgoblin attacks the police, allowing the Rose to get away. Spidey is so exhausted he rests in an alley. Lance Bannon teams with unconventional police Sgt. Tork. In Washington Square Park, Richard Fisk meets Dina, whom he takes to his loft apartment. Spidey awakens after eleven hours in the alley. Still too exhausted to web-sling, he takes the subway home, fi nding MJ there. Tork and Lance learn of a Rose-Blue Boys meeting. At Fisk’s loft, Dina sees the Rose’s mask as Richards opens up to her. Unable to join Tork, Lance tries to give Peter the assignment. MJ keeps Peter from fi nding out but Matt Murdock calls him and requests a midnight meeting. Richard visits Vanessa and she recognizes him. Her doctor increases her medication to keep it from happening again. Jack O’Lantern and Hobgoblin confront the Blue Boys at the meeting place as Sgt. Tork tries to be seen by the hoods so they’ll call the meeting off. Instead, the hoods fire an explosive at him, blowing up the el. The police attack en masse and the arriving Rose is winged. Spidey, stood up by Murdock, follows the explosions to the battlesite where Hobby tackles him. Spidey pushes him aside to fi ght the spreading fi re. Meanwhile, a rookie traffic cop blocks the Rose’s escape route. Intending only to wound, the Rose shoots and kills him. He returns home, seeking consolation from Dina.
