Released from prison, Molten Man dons a disguise to rob a jewelry store. Spider-Man intervenes and, thinking he is battling a normal opponent, is overpowered. Since the burglar’s punch felt like iron, Spider-Man suspects Molten Man. He visits Raxton’s apartment, planting a spider-tracer on his jacket, leading him to the scene when the disguised criminal tries to rob the same jewelry store. During the battle, Spidey’s camera catches Molten Man tearing free of his disguise. After defeating the villain, he gives the photo to the police to prove Raxton’s involvement. At the Daily Bugle, Peter Parker learns from Jameson’s new secretary that Betty Brant has quit her job. Upset, Peter throws his picture, left behind by Betty, in the trash.
