  • Spider-Man steals money from a bank in front of witnesses then hurls it into the river. At the Bugle, John Jameson suddenly undergoes a transformation due to his exposure to space spores, becoming taller and super-strong. Scientists present him with a special suit to help him control his power. Jameson decides to market his son as a super hero and learning of Spider-Man’s robbery, sends John after him. Elsewhere, scientists examine the Rhino while Foggy Nelson is assigned as his defense attorney. The Rhino tries to escape his bonds but the scientists douse him with knockout gas. John catches up to Spider-Man and fights him; Spider-Man flees and flashes back to the bank “robbery”: his spider-sense had alerted him to a bomb inside the package, necessitating the theft. He presents his case to John, to no avail. Continuing his pursuit of Spider-Man, John becomes increasingly mentally erratic and aggressive. Spider-Man lures him into an electrical generator, which removes his super-powers, returning him to normal. Back home, Peter is reminded by Aunt May that he has a dinner date at the Watsons. Dreading Mary Jane’s arrival, he is stunned to open the door to a vivacious redhead who declares “Face it, tiger — you just hit the jackpot!”
