  • Yellowjacket travels backwards through time, passing through a near future where the Avengers are outlaws. As she nears the current day, she witnesses the Avengers battle the Anachronauts and tries to get their attention, but shifts out of time before she can. Arriving in the present day, she’s promptly killed by Tony Stark, the murder secretly witnessed by Luna. Meanwhile, the Avengers stop a mugging. Later, Scarlet Witch and Tony Stark prepare for the Avengers reunion. In Central Park, an adult Luna tries to warn Hercules of the near future, but she’s partially out of synch with time and Hercules forgets. Giant-Man inspects the mysterious basement door then joins the Avengers reunion. Tensions run high when Hawkeye confronts Stark over Mockingbird’s death. Suddenly, Anachronauts attack New York. The Avengers fight them off and Hercules is shocked to see they’ve left behind an aged Gilgamesh. Meanwhile, the adult Luna tries to warn Marilla of her demise, but disappears before she can. Later, as the Avengers tend to Gilgamesh, Iron Man murders Marilla.

Young Tony Stark plays with his parents (1). Tony sneaks out with his girlfriend Meredith (2). Jarvis consoles Tony, whose parents have just died (3).

AvFo #8, ’99 reveals many characters in the Crossing are actually Space Phantoms sent by Immortus to confuse the Avengers, the adult Luna being one of them. The Anachronauts here are generic Immortus agents, not the various era warriors who normally serve him; they may be Space Phantoms. The Avengers/Anachronauts battle that Yellowjacket witnesses is mirrored in Av:Ts, ’96 from the Avengers’ perspective.
