A public ceremony dubbed “Avengers Day” is being held to honor the Avengers in Central Park, with even Avengers founders Thor and Iron Man briefly making an appearance. Several festivities are held, with Hercules and Hawkeye performing feats of strength and marksmanship, and the Wasp arriving in style to show off her new Mark GT sports car. The Avengers announce that they are awarding membership to Hercules and that they offered membership to Black Widow as well, but she has chosen to retire. Hidden among the spectators, the Super-Adaptoid attacks shortly after the tardy Captain America arrives. The Avengers each take turns battling the Adaptoid, till Quicksilver has all of them tackle it together, forcing the Adaptoid to adapt all of their powers at the same time, causing him to short-circuit and collapse. The celebration soon resumes, with the crowd even more thankful for the Avengers.
