Arkon and his warriors capture the Black Knight at the Well at the Center of Time. After the scene plays out in the Scarlet Witch’s dreams, the Black Panther leaves Avengers Mansion to summon Thor to transport the Avengers to Arkon’s home world. The Black Knight explains his reasons for being in Polemachus to Arkon and his new companion, the Enchantress, but Arkon thinks the intruder is a spy. Expecting an attack by the Avengers, the Enchantress transports Avengers Mansion to Polemachus, leaving the Black Panther and Thor on earth. Arkon’s warriors defeat Goliath, Quicksilver, the Scarlet Witch and the Vision, whose powers are temporarily stripped by the Enchantress. The Black Panther and Thor arrive on Polemachus, and T’Challa helps free the captive Avengers while Thor battles Arkon, his warriors and the entranced Black Knight. The Enchantress loses her hold on the Knight, and when he engages Arkon in battle, the Ebony Blade falls into the Well at the Center of Time and explodes. Arkon realizes the Enchantress duped him and the Avengers leave.
After nearly killing jewel thieves in London, the Black Knight fears the Ebony Blade’s malevolent power and summons the original Black Knight, who tells him to go to Stonehenge and destroy the weapon. A sorcerer at Stonehenge sends Black Knight to the Well at the Center of Time in Arkon’s home world of Polemachus (p).
The Ebony Blade’s evil aspect is revealed for the 1st time. Future comics writer Mike W. Barr has a LOC in this issue.
