In the Negative Zone Rick Jones is beset by visions of recent and current events; moments later Annihilus attacks, but Rick repels him with an unexpected telepathic bolt. Back on Hala Captain Marvel destroys the Omni-wave, while Rick uses his new powers to teleport back to the Supreme Intelligence’s prison chamber. The Intelligence reveals he used the Omni-wave to unlock Rick’s full potential. Ronan becomes aware of the energy readings coming from the Intelligence’s chambers, and orders both of them executed. Rick Jones uses his powers to create manifestations of World War II heroes he recalls reading about in old comics to battle the Kree, but though they initially gain the upper hand, they soon fade into nothingness. Rick then uses his full power to immobilize all Kree and Skrulls across the universe. With the Intelligence’s help, Rick also unmasks H. Warren Craddock as a Skrull while he is preaching anti-alien xenophobia in New York, resulting in the inflamed mob murdering the imposter. Exhausted, Rick collapses, and the Intelligence teleports all of the Avengers to his chambers. With Rick’s body dying due to the exertion, Captain Marvel merges with Rick once again, shutting down the power the Omni-wave awoke and saving his life. Resuming control of the Kree Empire, the Intelligence teleports all of the Avengers back to Earth except for Goliath, leaving the other heroes wonderingwhat happened to him.
Goliath confronts some Skrulls, Captain Marvel works on the Omni-wave, and the Avengers battle Skrulls (Av #96, ’72).
The text claims Rick’s visions all happened in the previous issue, but the scenes with Craddock, Ronan and Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are new.
