  • Gorgon and Lockjaw teleport into Avengers Mansion to collect the Avengers to attend Quicksilver’s wedding to Crystal, only to discover that Quicksilver had failed to invite them. The Avengers accompany them back to the Great Refuge for the wedding anyway, where they find the Fantastic Four also in attendance. Meanwhile, a mysterious figure blasts Maximus unconscious in his prison cell, before meeting with rebel Alpha Primitives in Maximus’ place, to launch a plan against the heroes. Later, at a banquet, Iron Man and Medusa unexpectedly attack the Alpha Primitives in attendance. Though the bewitched heroes are quickly subdued, the rebel Primitive leader RN-62 places the blame on Black Bolt. That night Scarlet Witch tries unsuccessfully to reconcile with Quicksilver, but finds he still disapproves of her involvement with the Vision. The android is also on Swordsman’s mind, as he tries to get Mantis to choose between the two men, but their discussion is interrupted as they witness the Omega robot kidnapping Crystal. Black Bolt asks the Avengers, who unlike the Inhumans or FF have no past conflicts with the Alpha Primitives to stir resentments, to question them, since they were involved with Omega’s previous awakening, while the FF and Inhumans check on Maximus, only to find him unconscious. Tempers flare as the Avengers confront the Primitives, with Mantis sensing hostile vibrations heightening the antagonism, and a riot erupts. Omega reappears, leading the attack on the heroes, who all either pass out or become frozen where they stand. Omega then removes his “face” to reveal that it is actually Ultron-7 in disguise!

Scarlet Witch confronts the Vision over Mantis (p). Quicksilver says he doesn’t want to see the Scarlet Witch again (Av #110, ’73). Maximus invents a machine to harness the Inhumans’ guilt over enslaving the Alpha Primitives to power Omega (FF #131, ’73). The Omega robot leads the Alpha Primitives in revolt against the Inhumans (FF #132, ’73).

The story concludes in FF #150, ’74. Letters page contains a LOC from Ralph Macchio, later a Marvel Comics editor/writer.
