Their ranks depleted, the Avengers offer membership to Moondragon, who accepts, but when they contact former members, most of them decline to rejoin. Yellowjacket and Wasp do decide to return to the team, but when Yellowjacket suggests a membership drive, Hawkeye storms off to recruit Black Knight from the 12th century. The Avengers appeal for new members via television and stage an audition at Yankee Stadium. Beast shows up, but his audition is interrupted by someone appearing to be the alien Stranger. The villain fills the stadium with explosive floating mines, one of which seriously injures Wasp. Beast dodges and deactivates the mines and Moondragon drives the villain away.

Wasp and Yellowjacket rejoin the Avengers and Beast and Moondragon join the team as provisional members. Henry Pym resumed his Yellowjacket identity in GSDef #4, ’75. Wasp adopted the red and blue costume she wears here in MFeat #6, ’72. Page 1 is a flash-forward that occurs between panels 5 and 6 of p10. A significant gap of time separates panels 4 and 5 on p3 of this issue; Scarlet Witch and Vision both appear behind the scenes upstairs in Avengers Mansion during the 1st part of this story and make an actual appearance on their honeymoon during the 2nd part. Gaspar Saladino’s lettering on p1 is uncredited.
