With his memory regressed to a time shortly after the Avengers’ founding, Henry Pym assumes his Ant-Man identity and attacks the Avengers, who he believes are imposters and intruders in their own mansion. Using an army of ants and his size-changing ability, Ant-Man keeps his teammates on the ropes until Wasp subdues him with her sting. Wasp attributes her husband’s behavior to mental illness. Before the Avengers can restore Pym’s memory, the recreated Ultron assaults them. Although Scarlet Witch temporarily keeps the robot at bay, Ultron decimates the team and leaves with Ant-Man and Wasp as his captives.
Iron Man approaches Hulk in the Avengers’ first battle (Av #1, ’63). After seeing her husband throw a tantrum in his lab, Janet Pym consults a psychiatrist. Yellowjacket agrees to stay in the Avengers with Wasp (Av #137, ’75). Henry and Janet Pym share a romantic moment. After adopting a new costume, Wasp goes to Henry Pym’s lab, only to find it destroyed (p).
Henry Pym resumes his Ant-Man identity for two issues only. Wonder Man adopts a new costume, designed and made by the Beast. Wasp wears a new lavender costume in this issue only.
