When Iron Man insists on speaking with Cap privately, he apologizes for recent quarrels, saying he and Scarlet Witch had no right to judge Cap’s performance, but a self-critical Cap says he’s gotten lax and is determined to improve. Iron Man criticizes his own record as chairman, notably his absenteeism, and says he’s willing to step down and let Cap take over. Cap refuses, saying he just needed to know Iron Man was taking his job seriously. While a newly friendly Vision and Wonder Man play chess, Scarlet Witch receives word from Hawkeye of Two-Gun Kid’s disappearance in Colorado. Meanwhile, in the Inhumans’ hidden kingdom Attilan, ex-Avenger Quicksilver suddenly vanishes before the eyes of his horrified wife Crystal; and in Saugerties, New York, Charlie-27 secretly saves young Vance Astrovik from a potential traffic accident, then reports back to his fellow Guardians regarding Vance’s status. Back at Avengers Mansion, Wasp and Yellowjacket are having Ultron’s seemingly inert robotic bride Jocasta moved into Avengers Mansion when she suddenly revives, apparently acting on a summons from Ultron, and fights her way out of the mansion. The Avengers resist at first, including an abruptly returning Thor, until Iron Man insists they let Jocasta escape so they can follow her back to Ultron.
