After Wasp tells the other Avengers about the chemical theft, Iron Man shares his suspicions that Ultron has returned, and that he plans to use the items stolen from Stark International and Yellowjacket’s lab to make an army of indestructible drones. Cap suspects Ultron may target the Scarlet Witch, whose hex power defeated the robot last time he struck, and Vision takes up guard duties, while Wasp, declaring herself the team’s “lightweight,” tells the others she is going back to the lab to clean up. Meanwhile Iron Man gives Jarvis a note for Thor, warning that the theft from Stark International makes him suspect Ultron has planted a hypnotic control in his mind, and telling the thunder god there is a device in the vault for tracking Iron Man’s armor, should he betray the team. Shortly afterwards Iron Man disables Jocasta, kidnaps the Scarlet Witch after tricking Vision into leaving her side, and, as he flies off with his prisoner, burns the note he gave Jarvis. However, when Thor arrives soon after, Jarvis reveals he copied the note before it was destroyed; collecting the tracker, the Avengers pursue their errant friend. After Iron Man delivers the Witch to Ultron, Wasp reveals she has been hiding in the Witch’s glove and attacks the robot, as does Iron Man, who has regained control of himself. The other Avengers arrive, and working as a team push Ultron into the vat of molten Adamantium, which rapidly hardens, leaving him an inert statue.
