  • Cap decides to reduce the Avengers roster to six members, to make it more effective. During the special meeting held to discuss this, a group of heroes are compelled to come to Avengers Mansion and demonstrate their worth by uncharacteristically battling each other. Moondragon admits to causing this with her mental powers, deciding the team needed her help to fi nd worthy candidates. After a violently negative response, Moondragon leaves, as do most of the heroes. Tigra asks to join the team, while Wonder Man, Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Beast resign to explore their lives. Yellowjacket returns to active status and Tigra joins. Jocasta, believing herself cut out of the group because of her inhumanity, decides to leave, not knowing the team was awarding her special status. And so, the new Avengers have assembled.

Moondragon hones her powers on Titan.

The credits were done in humorous form in the splash page blurb box. Despite leaving before being told of her new status, Jocasta’s membership is still made official, as the automated computer systems in Av Ann #17, ’88 later recognize her as a past member.
