  • The Avengers assemble for the fi rst meeting of their new roster. Yellowjacket, feeling inadequate after months of research that went nowhere, and now determined to prove his worth, is acting abusive towards the Wasp and moody towards his teammates. Meanwhile, hidden in a Virginia glade for 10,000 years and preserved by Linnea’s magic, Gorn becomes determined to explore the world. They trek to Washington, D.C. where their old ways and dead language clash with the present and create a disturbance. When Linnea uses her magic to defend Gorn after a cop maces him, he strikes her and she leaves. Later, after battling some muggers, Gorn is killed by police. Linnea fi nds his body and goes into a rage. The Avengers, already en route to investigate reports of Linnea’s powers, try to defend the city but prove no match for her. Cap tries to breach the language barrier to communicate with Linnea, but Yellowjacket ambushes her. The Wasp saves him from Linnea’s retribution, and Cap manages to get through to Linnea once again. Realizing Gorn’s death triggered Linnea’s rampage, the Avengers allow Linnea to leave peacefully. However, Yellowjacket feels a growing rage consuming him.

The Cat People transform the dying Greer Nelson into Tigra.
