Iron Man frees Drax from Moondragon’s control and they rendezvous with Captain America and Wasp, determined to put an end to the telepath’s tyranny over Ba-Bani. Considering herself a goddess, Moondragon manipulates Thor by intensifying his own feeling of godly superiority and convincing him of the rightness of her subjugation of lesser beings for their own good. Thor battles his teammates and Drax, but when he realizes he’s under Moondragon’s control, Thor changes into his mortal alter-ego, Don Blake, whose human personality is unaffected by the telepath’s influence. The Avengers confront Moondragon, who is forced to expend her psionic power to stop the relentless Drax by overloading every nerve synapse in his brain. Wasp fells the mentally exhausted Moondragon with a single punch. Drax dies, and Thor transports Moondragon to Asgard to be judged by Odin. The other Avengers return to Earth and mourn for Drax.
The Avengers arrive on Ba-Bani and fight its “rebels” (Av #219, ’82). Arthur Douglas dies and is resurrected as Drax (IM #55, ’73 fb). Moondragon finds the wayward Drax and uses her mental powers to subdue his violent tendencies.
Wasp changes into a tiny blue costume given her by Moondragon. Wasp discovers that Thor is Don Blake. Letters page features a LoC from future Marvel colorist John A. Wilcox.
