Escaping the Beyonder’s tornado the Avengers crash land in a Midwest farm. After settling some internal squabbling and fi xing the Quinjet, the Avengers take to orbit to get a trace on Cap. Meanwhile, Cap frees himself while Beyonder sleeps, and, fearing what might happen if the Beyonder unintentionally uses his reality-altering power while dreaming, attacks, planning to knock him into dreamless unconsciousness. However, having feigned sleep to see what Cap would do, the Beyonder catches Cap in a suspension field, informing Cap that his decision to attack has made them enemies. Beyonder’s ranting is interrupted by Namor’s arrival; the Sub-Mariner feigns surrender to distract the Beyonder and allow the others to retrieve Cap, but Beyonder sees through the ruse, easily bests the Avengers, then decides to just destroy all existence.
