As the Avengers investigate the comatose Hercules’s abduction from his hospital bed, Thor glimpses the culprit and departs alone in pursuit, telling his fellow Avengers this is a matter for the gods. While the other Avengers discuss Thor’s odd behavior, a street vendor sells She-Hulk a refreshment that sends her berserk, attacking her teammates. Thor tracks Hermes to Olympus, where the messenger god admits to abducting Hercules, but fl ees after his comrade Hephaestus attacks Thor, sparking a fi erce battle that ends when Ares bludgeons an injured Thor from behind. Back on Earth, the Avengers assault the street vendor and expose him as the Olympian god Dionysus, freeing She-Hulk from his spell. A returning Hermes bowls over the heroes, knocking out Captain America and Black Knight, but Captain Marvel fi ghts back until Hermes’ sister Artemis fells her with a magic arrow. Dionysus then subdues Dr. Druid and She-Hulk using physical force and a sleeping potion, respectively. The six defeated Avengers awaken in shackles in Olympus, where Olympian monarch Zeus sentences them to death by torment as punishment for the injuries his son Hercules suffered while serving with the Avengers.
