A crazed Hercules attacks the Avengers and Olympians who were trying to heal him, nearly killing the Wasp before Dr. Druid telepathically forces him to relive how he blundered into the Masters of Evil trap. Horrifi ed, Hercules hurls away Druid. Elsewhere, She-Hulk, Sub-Mariner, Black Knight, Captain Marvel and Thor very nearly overwhelm a surprised Zeus, but the raging Olympian monarch rallies and fells all five heroes. When another attacker tries to restrain Zeus, he viciously beats this new foe until he recognizes the attacker as his son, Hercules. His mind starting to clear, Hercules assures Zeus that the Avengers are innocent, an account backed up by Hera and Prometheus, whose hair has whitened since he sacrifi ced part of his life force to revive Hercules. A contrite Zeus hosts the Avengers as honored guests while Apollo heals Captain America and Dr. Druid’s injuries. Zeus then announces that he is forbidding any further Olympian contact with mortals lest the gods do more damage on Earth. Neptune and Ares protest, but Zeus warns against defi ance. Apart from the still-healing Hercules, the other Avengers all return to Earth, where Wasp resumes her vacation and Thor fl ies off on a quest to heal himself. As the Avengers return to Hydrobase, Namor’s wife Marrina greets them with news that their undersea community Deluvia broke up after Neptune’s traumatic assault, so Namor and Marrina resolve to make a new home with the Avengers. A week later, the Avengers start to investigate the sudden disappearance of Captain America.
