While Dr. Druid eavesdrops on his fellow Avengers in astral form, Sub-Mariner loses patience with his attorney. Captain Marvel supervises the construction of a new Avengers headquarters on Hydrobase and tries in vain to learn Captain America’s whereabouts. Acting autonomously, the Fixer’s costume takes control of scientist Todd Martin, who breaks the villain out of prison. The Fixer locates and reprograms the Awesome Android at an Ohio farm, and the Avengers, alerted by a local boy, arrive and defeat the creature. They subdue the “Fixer,” only to discover he is Martin, dressed in the villain’s costume. Marrina pursues the fleeing Fixer but the villain strikes her down.
