After Gwen confesses her feelings for Peter to her father she leaves his bedroom after which Spider-Man drops in. Stacy tells Spider-Man about the Shocker’s ex-girlfriend, and where she lives. When Spidey arrives, Man-Mountain Marko is tearing up the apartment searching for the tablet and eventually finding it in a hidden wall safe. Spidey intervenes and the two scuffle. Across town, Maggia lawyer Caesar Cicero posts bail for Wilson. At the Daily Bugle, Randy Robertson visits his father. Jameson returns from the hospital enraged that the Bugle has been running positive stories about Spider-Man, and threatens to fi re Robbie. Robertson, in turn, threatens to quit rather than distort the news and Jameson backs down. Randy is impressed by his father’s stand. At the apartment, Marko tosses the girl out the window forcing Spider-Man to rescue her, then escapes. Cicero brings Wilson to Silvermane and Marko enters soon after with the tablet. At home, Peter calls Dr. Curt Connors in Florida about a summer job. Martha tells him that her husband left unexpectedly with a couple of men. At the Galby Building, a Maggia goon delivers Connors to Silvermane. Knowing he could become the Lizard at any time, Connors warns Silvermane it’s not safe to keep him but refuses to say why.
