As the Avengers move towards the Kree Empire’s Capitol Citadel, the Kree Emperors question Ronan about the Avengers. Meanwhile, Deathbird is smuggled into Hala. The Supreme Intelligence tells his Starforce that the Avengers have allied with the Shi’ar, and are going to assassinate the Emperors. Starforce attacks the Avengers, but the fighting suddenly stops when the Emperors arrive; finding it offensive that Starforce exists without their sanction, they order the Kree team killed along with the Avengers. Deathbird suddenly encases the Avengers and Starforce in an energy field, kills the Emperors and escapes. The Supreme Intelligence frees Starforce, publicly reclaims his role as Kree leader and arrests the Avengers for their “role” in the Emperors’ deaths.
