As the Avengers prepare to host a dinner party for Taylor Madison, Jarvis is overwhelmed when Marilla recruits the Inhumans’ royal kitchen staff to prepare the meal. The Avengers question their reluctant guest Swordsman, still disoriented and plagued by agonizing headaches. When Swordsman angrily denounces Vision for a supposed past betrayal, Black Knight asks more questions and starts to realize the Swordsman comes from an alternate reality, one where a sinister Vision was always pale-bodied as he is now, and where Swordsman never met Mantis but did know a version of Moondragon called Mantis. Once Swordsman is sedated and resting, the Avengers dine with Taylor, unaware that Hercules’ old enemy Hera is spying on them and seems oddly delighted by Hercules’ romantic interest in Taylor, though Hera pleads ignorance when Zeus mentions rumors of forbidden Olympian contact with Earth. Sersi comes to dinner late after a casual tryst with a random lover, and her aggressive romantic attentions towards Black Knight impede the growing attraction between the Knight and Crystal. Upstairs, undetected intruder Screener scans Crystal’s sleeping daughter Luna and reports back to her fellow Acolytes that Luna is genetically human, requiring “cleansing.” Discovered by Marilla and Lockjaw, Screener mind-wipes this incident from their memories and departs. Downstairs, Black Widow is toasting the success of the current Avengers roster when the Watcher appears just long enough to deliver a cryptic message: “Beware.” Downtown, police find the body of Sersi’s lover, the sixth victim of an unknown serial killer.
