Since Crystal told him she loved the Black Knight, Vision’s thoughts linger on his own capacity for emotion, or lack of same. Wandering, Vision accidentally interrupts Captain America’s and Black Widow’s training session. He envies the casual comfort they feel in each other’s company. In the courtyard he overhears Hercules professing love to Taylor Madison, but while Taylor feels the same way, she says they can’t be together because Hercules is immortal, and she implies she doesn’t have long to live. Taylor leaves and so does Vision, wanting to comfort Hercules but almost ashamed of himself for eavesdropping. Checking on the comatose Swordsman, Vision finds Swordsman’s lover Magdalene keeping vigil. Swordsman revives, sharing a joyous reunion with Magdalene. Vision updates Giant-Man regarding Swordsman’s condition, and seeks his advice regarding emotions, since Vision considers Giant-Man family, as the creator of Vision’s creator, Ultron. Vision admits to studying his teammates’ emotions and is perplexed since he no longer feels emotion himself. Giant-Man says Vision still has the potential to feel emotion and that they may restore his feelings someday, but for now he needs to tend the Swordsman. Vision confesses to Crystal how self-preoccupied he has been since she confided in him, saying this distraction may have impaired his recent performance. He apologizes, but Crystal says such selfishness is part of being human, and assures him he will regain his feelings someday if he wants them, noting he is a good man who deserves happiness. Heading outside, Vision meets Deathcry, who passionately kisses him and then scorns his seeming indifference. She says Vision still has the ability to feel but is afraid to do so, and she leaves, mocking him. To his own surprise, once she is gone, Vision angrily smashes his fist into a stone wall, and regards this as a malfunction he must diagnose and repair. Meanwhile, mutant terrorist Fabian Cortez abducts Crystal’s daughter Luna.
