  • Aboard the SHIELD Helicarrier, Nick Fury notifies Black Widow of the energy dome enclosed around Genosha. In Hammer Bay’s sewers, Fabian Cortez, still cradling Luna, recoils in horror from Exodus as Quicksilver, the Scarlet Witch, Crystal, and Jean Grey helplessly look on. Exodus psionically compels Cortez to hand Luna over, then seemingly kills him with a psi-blast. The X-Men reunite with Trish Tilby while aiding government workers injured by a rebel attack. The Avengers then arrive and the two teams agree to put aside past differences to stop Exodus, save Luna, and end the war. While surveying Exodus’ barrier alongside Storm, the barrier disables War Machine’s armor, but Storm and Sersi save him from falling. Xavier psionically requests the heroes’ aid at a mutate detention center where he and his delegation are pinned down by magistrate gunfire. Leaving Iceman and Revanche to tend the wounded, both teams race to the detention center and rescue the delegation, but Rogue is waylaid immediately afterward by Exodus’ powers. Aboard the Helicarrier, the Vision reports that Exodus’ dome is contracting and will crush the city unless stopped. Exodus arrives and incites the mutates against the heroes, forcing them to fight a two-pronged battle. Though the heroes triumph, Exodus then prepares to kill Luna. Xavier and Black Knight both strike at full force, and Exodus falls. As Luna is reunited with her family, Xavier angrily admonishes the Genoshans for their actions. Exodus drops the barrier and departs, but attacks Quicksilver with a powerful blast as a parting shot. Black Knight performs CPR on Quicksilver and barely revives him, earning a grateful Crystal’s thanks. The next day, Jenny Ransome chastises Xavier for championing human-mutant relations while posing as human. Captain America begins to defend Xavier, but Xavier sees merit in Jenny’s accusations of hypocrisy.

Conclusion of “Bloodties,” continuing from UXM #307, ’93. Last of the 30th anniversary issues printed with a foil-stamped cover, this one in silver. Contains a centerspread insert promoting the Punisher and New Warriors titles. The West Coast team makes their final appearance in the main series prior to disbanding and resigning as Avengers in protest in AWC #102, ’94. Multiple single-panel coloring errors: Black Knight’s sword blade is colored the same brown shade as his jacket, Xavier’s brown jumpsuit is colored light blue, Revanche’s lavender hair is colored brown, and one of Cyclops’ gloves is colored fleshtone instead of yellow. Jean’s uniform is incorrectly drawn in one panel with dark blue boots.
