Aided and monitored by Black Widow, Giant-Man tests his newly modified encephalo-helmet’s psycho-analysis program on himself, experiencing a hallucination in which human-like ants place him on trail for his supposed crimes against insect-kind (exploiting and causing the deaths of ants to support his adventures) and his failures as a hero. Savagely beaten by insect versions of his own past and present identities as Ant-Man, Giant-Man, Goliath and Yellowjacket, the real Giant-Man experiences dangerous mental strain, but Black Widow cannot override the program since Giant-Man built a manual remote into it, so only he can turn it off. In the end, the insect-people find Giant-Man guilty, but he fights back, forcing his way out of their custody and declaring that he is a hero. As Giant-Man comes out of the hallucination, he tells Black Widow the encephalo-helmet is ruined, but claims he himself is just fine.
