As Captain America and his makeshift team train in preparation for their return to Morgan’s palace, a furious Morgan kills the guard who allowed the Scarlet Witch’s escape and then a Lemurian ambassador seeking audience. Morgan mystically appears before Cap’s team and demands Wanda’s return; after she vanishes, Cap tells the others they will attack that night. On the coast, Wonder Man explains to Wanda that he was able to hold onto something when he was killed, but declines to elaborate. Cap’s team tries sneaking into the palace but is immediately attacked by their former teammates. A gigantic Morgan appears during the battle, then silences Mordred’s warnings with a mystic blast. Wanda appears and attacks Morgan with hexbolts magnified by Morgan’s own magic, and is soon aided by a gigantic Simon. Morgan’s control over the Avengers fades, allowing them to add their strength to Wanda’s. Wanda hesitates since Simon is in the line of fire but Simon’s pleas and Morgan’s shattering of the Vision galvanizes her into striking Morgan with full force. Reality is restored, but Simon is gone and the Vision is still heavily damaged. As Thor flies the Twilight Sword back to the Nine Worlds, Beast asks the gathering, “What are we gonna do with 39 Avengers?!”
